Russia continues its escalation in Ukraine. At least three civilians have died and 10 were injured during the early hours of this Monday in an attack by the Russian Army with two missiles against the center of the city of Balaklia, in the Kharkiv region.
According to the head of the local military administration, Vitali Karabanov, between There are three children injuredthe missiles fell near residential buildings and a nursery. Rescue efforts continue.
Although the Kharkiv region is the scene of hostilities, Balaklia is located about 60 kilometers from the nearest point of the combat zone. Before the war, the municipality had more than 26,000 inhabitants.

Karabanov noted that eight of the injured have been hospitalized and that the rescue efforts were continuing at the time when the casualty report was published.
Balaklia was one of the towns in the Kharkiv region taken by the Russians at the beginning of the invasion and recovered by Ukraine in the fall of 2022, when kyiv troops launched their most successful offensive so far in the war in Kharkov and Kherson.
