The polling stations for the local elections opened at 8:00 am and only close at 7:00 pm, but, according to the published agendas, party leaders chose to exercise their right to vote in the morning, as did the President of the Republic and the president of the Assembly of the Republic.

The President of the Republic, Marcelo Rebelo de Sousa, votes in the morning for Celorico de Basto, although the time has not yet been set. The president of the Assembly of the Republic, José Pedro Aguiar-Branco, will vote in Porto, at the Catholic University, at 11:45.

The prime minister and president of the PSD, Luís Montenegro, and the general secretary of the PS, José Luís Carneiro, are the first two party leaders to vote, at 9:00 am.

Montenegro votes in Espinho, his hometown, at Escola Primária no. 2, while Carneiro votes at Escola Alexandre Herculano, in Porto.

Paulo Raimundo, general secretary of the PCP, votes at 9:30 am at the Escola Básica de Alhos Vedros, Setúbal.

Livre’s co-spokesperson, Rui Tavares, votes at Liceu Gil Vicente, in Lisbon, at 11:00, as does the BE coordinator, Mariana Mortágua, who also votes in the capital, at Escola Básica n.º1, in Arroios.

The leader of the CDS-PP, Nuno Melo, votes at the Manoel de Oliveira School, in Porto.

At 11:30, the PAN spokesperson, Inês de Sousa Real, at the Escola Básica de Telheiras, Lisbon, and the leader of the JPP, Filipe Sousa, at the Igreja de Gaula, municipality of Santa Cruz, Madeira, vote.

At noon, Chega’s leader, André Ventura, is expected to vote at the Basic School of Parque das Nações, Lisbon, and from IL, Mariana Leitão, at the Cesário Verde Basic School, in Queijas, municipality of Oeiras.
