“With some slowness [a superfície frontal] it will remain almost stationary, especially in the central region, which also ends up giving persistence to the rain that will occur. Persistence in general in the same places and with some intensity and this can generate slightly more complicated situations”he said.

At the end of the day on Friday, according to Patrícia Gomes, this rain will be “between Setúbal and Portalegre and ends up staying there for some time”.

“Then on November 1st [sábado] begins to cross the southern region. This does not mean that it does not rain in the northern and central regions. It will continue to rain, but it is not expected to be with the same intensity as on the 31st [sexta-feira]. It’s a somewhat dangerous situation.”he highlighted.

Due to the heavy rain, the IPMA has already issued an orange warning for the northern and central regions between 03:00 on Friday and 00:00 on Saturday and a yellow warning only for the districts of Lisbon, Santarém and Castelo Branco between 03:00 on Friday and 06:00 on Saturday.

“We are monitoring the situation, but it is a slightly complicated situation for some regions, especially due to this surface remaining stationary for a few hours in a certain region”these.

As for the wind, Patrícia Gomes said that it will intensify from mid-afternoon today in the highlands and on the north and central coast, but nothing very significant.

“Regarding temperatures, the maximum values are between 15 and 20 degrees in the northern and central regions and between 20 and 23 degrees in the southern region, with a small drop on Sunday”he said.

Minimum temperatures will register a more significant drop, with values in the order of 10 to 15 degrees being expected in the north and central regions, falling to values below 05 degrees in some places in the northern and central interior on the night of Saturday to Sunday.

Minimum temperatures will vary between 13 and 18 degrees in the southern region, dropping to values between 9 and 14 degrees on the night of Saturday to Sunday.

“After this situation we will have the intensification of an anticyclonic crest that will cause the meteorological situation to worsen with a decrease in cloud cover. The wind will ease and no precipitation is expected, at least for two to three days, but in the middle of next week the situation may change”these.
