THIS is the terrifying moment an elderly woman is battered unconscious after attempting to stop a fare-dodger from following her through the station gates.
Footage shows the 82-year-old trying to stop the offender before he forcefully strikes her across the face at Ganzenhoef Metro, Amsterdam.
The shocking clip, shared by Amsterdam Police, shows the OAP scanning her ticket as a man creeps up behind her.
Turning around, the woman notices the man trying to follow her through the gate.
She then stops in an attempt to prevent him from passing and evading the fare.
The aggressor, dressed in a blue cap and shirt, light blue jeans and a green jacket, then shoves her before forcefully beating her.

He strikes her chest and ear – then walks off casually out of the station.
The woman shouts for help but there is no one around to assist her.
Police said she then made her way to the city centre before losing consciousness.
Cops have launched a major hunt for the attacker who they said fled the scene at around 12:20pm on May 26.
Amsterdam police said: “The victim planned to take the metro toward the centre of Amsterdam.
“Her plans were abruptly disrupted around 12.20pm when she tried to check in at Ganzenhoef metro station.
“She felt someone trying to slip through the gate behind her. She attempted to stop this by pausing.
“In response, she was pushed in the back. She pushed back lightly, but was then shoved forward with force.
“The woman was then struck hard in the ear, just below the temple. After that, she was hit again in the chest.
“The suspect fled via the escalator. The victim remained behind, shouting for help so someone would call the emergency services.
“Unfortunately, there was no-one nearby to assist. The victim decided to take the metro to the city centre anyway.
“At Central Station, she approached a GVB staff member for help, but then lost consciousness.”
It’s not the first time a good Samaritan civilian has been targeted by brutish fare dodgers.
On June 12, an off duty British officer confronted a mob of individuals after seeing them attempt to barge through barriers at a tube station without paying.
A harrowing assault followed with the mob punching and kicking the off duty female copper.
The problem has grown so persistent in the UK, the Shadow Justice Secretary Robert Jenrick took matters into his own hands and pursued the fare-dodgers himself.
Marching up to freeloaders, he demands: “Do you want to go back and pay like everybody else?”
During the confrontations he is threatened and told to “f*** off”.

Mr Jenrick said: “Sadiq Khan is driving a proud city into the ground. He’s not acting. So, I did.”
His video, viewed nearly five million times, led Transport for London to respond: “Fare evasion is unacceptable.”
