The Paris Police arrest the fourth member of the gang that stole the jewels from the Louvre Museum

According to the newspaper The Parisianthe suspect is in police custody accused of the crimes of organized theft and illicit association. The four members of the group who carried out the robbery in the Apollo Gallery of the Louvre are originally from or reside in the commune of Aubervilliers.

The identity of the detainees has been possible to decipher thanks to fingerprints and traces of DNA detected in one of the motorcycles that the group used in the escape and in one of the two display cases that were broken to steal the jewelry, as well as in some of the abandoned objects. So far the three identified are Abdoulaye N.a former Louvre guard, Ayed G. y Slimane K. Who was the ringleader of the operation is still being investigated.

Pretending to be workers, the thieves gained access to the museum on October 19 early in the morning thanks to a stolen crane that lifted them to a balcony, from where they entered the room from which they took eight jewels of the French Crown valued at 88 million euros and of incalculable heritage value. The stolen pieces are still missing.

Two of the detainees, as investigators have been able to reconstruct thanks to security cameras, They wore yellow vests to pass themselves off as workers and entered the gallery at 9:34 a.m.

Four minutes later they went down the same crane and fled hastily before the arrival of the Police and members of the museum’s security, which prevented them from carrying out the his plan to burn down the crane. They then got on two motorcycles where their accomplices were waiting for them and went to a place in the city where they had other vehicles parked, in which they headed towards the east of Paris.
