Putin closes ranks with Maduro after the reappearance of María Corina and the seizure of an oil tanker by the US

Russian President Vladimir Putin spoke by phone Thursday with Venezuelan President Nicolás Maduro and assured him of Moscow’s support for his government’s course in the face of growing external pressure, the Kremlin reported.

Maduro has been under pressure from US President Donald Trump to leave office, while the United States carries out a huge military deployment in the Caribbean.

The Kremlin said in a statement that Putin and Maduro discussed their desire to act on their strategic partnership agreement and implement several joint projects related to the economy and the energy sector.
