The Brazil School Ship will dock at the Rocha Conde d’Óbidos Passenger Terminal, in Lisbon, and will be open to the public on October 23rd, from 2pm to 6pm.
The vessel’s passage is part of the 39th Marine Guard Instruction Trip, a moment in which future officers of the Brazilian Navy receive professional and cultural training. During the trip, the Marine Guards take practical classes in navigation, meteorology, seamanship, naval operations, damage control and naval administration, in addition to going through the entire adaptation phase to life on board.

The trip started in August and should only end on December 21st. “Brazil” left the port of Natal, in Rio Grande do Norte, and has already passed through Casablanca (Morocco), Valencia (Spain), Toulon (France), Civitavecchia (Italy), Le Havre (France), Antwerp (Belgium), Oslo (Norway), Gothenburg (Sweden), Hamburg (Germany), London (Great Britain).
After Lisbon, he will travel to Baltimore and Jacksonville, in the United States, Cozumel (Mexico), Cartagena (Colombia) and return to Brazil via Belém, capital of Pará. At the end of the course, the Marine Guards will be appointed to the rank of Second Lieutenant and assigned to serve in Navy missions throughout the country.
