In addition to the 5800 kilos of hashish, which constitutes the largest quantity of drugs seized by the PSP, with an estimated value on the illicit market of more than several million euros, 10 vehicles, two speedboats, six boats, 21 high-power engines, solar panels, communications inhibitors and weapons and ammunition were seized.
The investigation was carried out by the PSP, over the last 8 months, under the direction of the 1st Section of the Lisbon Department of Investigation and Criminal Action.
“During the investigation, the defendants were strongly accused of being part of a criminal organization dedicated to the acquisition for subsequent sale of a large quantity of hashish in the Greater Lisbon area, using facilities for storing the narcotic product, located in areas that facilitate its transport by water and having weapons, communications equipment and logistical support that demonstrate a high degree of sophistication and danger”, explained the PSP in a statement, showing its conviction that “it managed to interrupt the distribution flow of hashish for criminal networks across the country”.
