The Judiciary Police (PJ) is investigating the dissemination of ‘pirated’ IPTV on Portuguese Government pages, following a complaint filed by GEDIPE, its director told Lusa this Tuesday, November 4th.
Contacted by Lusa, António Paulo Santos, from the Association for the Collective Management of Copyright and Cinematographic and Audiovisual Producers (GEDIPE), confirmed the complaint to the authorities and also the notification to the Executive led by Luís Montenegro about this security breach, which allowed these advertisements to be hosted on domains assigned to the Government.
On Thursday, Lusa found that several Portuguese Government pages, with the extension .gov.pt, namely belonging to the Instituto Português do Desporto e Juventude (IPDJ), hosted ‘pirate’ IPTV offers.
This method of illegal television transmission via the Internet was being advertised on pages dedicated to the Sports Museum (the National Plan for Ethics in Sports (but also the institute itself led by Ricardo Gonçalves (https://ipdj.gov.pt/).
Even though it is not linked to sport, the Planning, Strategy, Evaluation and International Relations Office of the Ministry of Finance (also had similar offers.
Also contacted by Lusa, a PJ source confirmed that it was investigating the authorship of these publications.
