Carlos Sá, president of the Board of Directors of the Amadora-Sintra Local Health Unit (ULSASI), which is part of the Fernando da Fonseca Hospital (HFF), reportedly asked the Minister of Health, Ana Paula Martins, to resign this morning, after the family of the pregnant woman who died on the night of Friday, the 31st, with cardiac arrest, in the emergency department of this hospital, came to prove that, after all, she had been monitored at that ULS since July, at the Agualva-Cacém Health Center and that was referred to HFF due to a high-risk pregnancy.
Remember that, and according to information transmitted by HFF, on Friday, the pregnant woman had a first consultation at the unit on September 17th and a second on October 29th, already at 38 weeks, when she was diagnosed with mild hypertension, and sent home with instructions to return a week later, at 39 weeks to prepare for the birth. On Sunday night, after the family provided new information and documentation to SIC Notícias and CMTV, the hospital rectified the information given, confirming the monitoring in Primary Health Care at ULS, justifying the computer system that does not allow information to be shared between units.
In less than a month, this is the second loss on the ULSASIN Board of Directors. On October 8th, it was the turn of the clinical director for the hospital area, Diana Sousa Mendes, to resign, citing personal reasons. Carlos Sá now follows, an administrator who came from the Red Cross Hospital, and who was appointed to this position by minister Ana Paula Martins in February this year. The entire administration must cease functions.
