The Torrestir Group announced a new partnership with the British company Davies Turner, one of the main independent logistics operators in the United Kingdom.
Davies Turner, which has 23 branches and more than 850 employees in the United Kingdom, now acts as Torrestir’s exclusive agent in the United Kingdom.
This collaboration aims to consolidate Torrestir’s presence in the British market, strengthening its international transport network and improving customer response.
Hélder Silva, general director of Torrestir Transitários, states, quoted in a statement, that “this paradigm shift represents an important milestone in our strategic evolution. By moving from a centralized model, with a single entry HUB in London, to a system based on direct connections to five delegations, we reinforce our responsiveness and proximity to our customers and partners”.
The new agreement establishes direct and regular connections between Porto and Lisbon and the cities of London, Birmingham, Bristol, Manchester and Glasgow. This will increase operational efficiency and reduce transit time for goods.
The general director of Torrestir Transitários adds that “this transformation will allow us to raise the level of service in the groupage area and open up new opportunities in the LTL (Less Than Truckload) market”.
Furthermore, the partnership will allow Torrestir to operate in the ADR (dangerous goods) market, an important area for imports, which until now was not part of the company’s portfolio.
Luís Torres, CEO of Grupo Torrestir, highlights that the partnership reflects common values by stating that he believes that “the best partnerships are those that are built on solid values and a common vision for the future”.
Danny Southby, director of Davies Turner, is enthusiastic about the collaboration, because “it reinforces our traffic between the United Kingdom and Portugal”, he says.
