Thursday has arrived, the day of the cultural agenda of the DN Brazil to Lisbon and surrounding areas. For the next few days, we highlight the premiere of the monologue ‘The Deranged Woman’with Brazilian actress Tati Pasquali, the start of DocLisboa, the country’s main documentary festival, in addition to Rafael Portugal’s comedy show and a musical meeting between Brazil and Uruguay at Fábrica Braço de Prata.

Premiere of the play “A Mulher Desarvorada”
Inspired by texts by Simone de Beauvoir, The Deranged Woman premieres this Thursday (16) at the Amélia Rey Colaço Municipal Theater, in Algés. The monologue is performed by Brazilian Tati Pasquali, A 40-year-old woman is in crisis after giving up her career to take care of her family. When her husband reveals that he has another woman, she is forced to face her choices and rethink her control over her own life.
Mixing fragments of the actress’s own career, the play breaks the “fourth wall” and invites the public to reflect on the roles imposed on women. With a sensitive and existentialist approach, the show proposes an intimate dialogue about identity, motherhood and freedom.

DocLisboa 2025
Also this Thursday (16), DocLisboa begins, the largest documentary festival in Portugal, which brings a selection of 211 films from 54 countries, including features and shorts. The event takes place in venues such as Culturgest, Cinema São Jorge, Cinemateca Portuguesa and Cinema Ideal, and also offers masterclasses, debates and parallel activities. The program includes 39 world premieres and 31 Portuguese works, in an edition that celebrates the diversity and strength of independent cinema.
Among the highlights are the program Shadowboxingcentered on Palestine, and a tribute to African-American filmmaker William Greaves. Other sections cover themes linked to music, history and politics, with productions by names such as Francis Ford Coppola and Welket Bungué.

Rafael Portugal show
Comedian Rafael Portugal, known for Backdoor and the program It’s Cabral’s fault, presents this Friday (17th), at 9pm, in Aula Magna, the show I’m Just Venting. Mixing stand-up With music and personal stories, Rafael talks about daily life, family and behind the scenes of his career with the sharp and spontaneous humor that has made him famous.
With more than ten years on the road, the artist is today one of the main names in Brazilian humor. On his tour of Portugal, he bets on being close to the public and promises a “Friday” with fun.

Brazil–Uruguay Meeting at Fábrica Braço de Prata
Also on Friday (17th) there is an atmosphere of Latin American celebration at Fábrica Braço de Prata, with a show by Uruguayan Diego Janssen and Brazilian Udi Fagundes, starting at 11:30 pm. Janssen is a multi-instrumentalist and producer, known for combining Afro-Uruguayan candombe with modern sounds. Udi, from Porto Alegre, has a career that mixes MPB, reggae and lyrics of social criticism and love. Entrance costs €10 with PassFabrica.
