Talk, share common experiences of immigrant life in Portugal and help build a support network, essential in the lives of those who choose another country to live. These are some of the objectives of the free therapeutic group for immigrants, held at Fábrica Braço de Prata, in Lisbon.
The next meeting is scheduled for Monday, November 10th, from 7pm. The session will be led by Mari Portela, graduated in Psychology, who uses an integrative approach to therapy.
Fábrica Braço de Prata highlights the importance of these meetings given the current reality experienced by immigrants in Portugal. “Given the scenario of vulnerability and challenges faced by Portuguese-speaking immigrants in the countrygroup therapy offers a platform for participants to minimize isolation and validate experiences”, says the meeting statement.
Among the objectives also are teaching coping strategies, strengthening identity and promoting well-being. The session is open to all immigrants and held in Portuguese.

The therapeutic initiative, which takes place every fortnight, is part of the Segunda Baderna program, an event held every Monday in Lisbon’s cultural space. The program also includes the presentation of the Crossing Choirformed by Madu and Heber Novais, a group that was born at Fábrica Braço de Prata itself.
The cuisine of the day is also designed for the immigrant public. The menu features typical Brazilian dishes at affordable prices, such as pork rinds, tapioca cubes, couscous, moqueca and hamburgers (with a vegetarian option).
