This is data that IoT Analytics has just released and shows the rapid rise of the hyperconnected world, in which people, devices, companies and processes are constantly linked. The combination of several technologies, mainly 5G, IoT, cloud and Artificial Intelligence, is leading to a major transformation of the economy and forcing new business models, regardless of the sector of activity.
How to operate in the hyperconnected world and what challenges it entails are some of the questions that will be debated at the 7th edition of the Vodafone Business Conference, which in 2025 will be dedicated to the topic of hyperconnectivity.
Scheduled for November 27th at the Rectory of Universidade Nova in Lisbon, the conference will focus on the impacts of hyperconnectivity, which includes the acceleration of business, the creation of new leadership models and the modernization of the customer experience.
“We decided to bring this topic to the Business Conference because we believe it is urgent to reflect on how hyperconnectivity can be a driver of growth, efficiency and sustainability,” the director of Products and Services at Vodafone Business, Filomena Pereira, told Dinheiro Vivo.
“We feel that hyperconnectivity happened gradually and then suddenly, it was a silent revolution but it was imposing itself on our daily lives”, he considered. “Today we live in such an economy where everything is connected, people, companies, machines, data, and this requires a new way of thinking and acting”, he highlighted.
The executive stressed that these are not technologies that will come in the future but an existing reality, although many companies are not yet taking advantage of them.
“This will accelerate and therefore waiting and seeing is not a viable option”, he indicated. In the challenging context we are experiencing, with geopolitical instability, pressure on resources and growing demands from consumers, “technology has to be seen as a strategic lever that can contribute to improving the productivity and growth of companies”, indicated Filomena Pereira.
Vodafone’s idea is to provoke reflection and show what is already available. “Our objective is for this conference to be a space for sharing, inspiration, but also promoting action”, he added. “Instead of fearing what’s coming, think about how you’re going to start the path of transformation.”
For Mário Peres, IoT sales manager at Vodafone Portugal, this is “a revolution that is underway” and justifies debate on the national stage, especially the ways of internationalization that hyperconnectivity brings. “It’s a new concept of opportunities for companies”, he highlighted. “It is a very challenging path for everyone, because anyone who does not embark on this path sees their opportunities as limited and there is no way not to look seriously at these opportunities.”
