MURDERED schoolgirl Lola Daviet’s mother broke down in tears today as she begged for the “monster devil” female migrant who confessed to her killing to be banged up for life.
Delphine Daviet, 47, was in floods of tears as she faced Dahbia Benkired, 27, at the Paris Assizes on Wednesday.
Benkired, an Algerian national, has already confessed to abducting, raping, and strangling Lola Daviet, 12, in the French capital three years ago.
Prosecutors still have to prove the case, in line with French law, however, and Ms Daviet provided evidence on the fourth day of the trial.
She said: “This moment is very important to me. I’m going to tell you about my Lola, my mini-me.”
“Lola was a sociable, loving, happy-go-lucky young girl, naive, always ready to help others.

“Before this tragedy, we had a very simple family life, very attentive to one another.”
Everything changed on October 14 2022, when Lola was abducted from the aparment block where she lived with her parents, and brother.
Recalling their last moments together, Ms Daviet said: “I kissed her, I said see you later. Then she encoutered this thing – this devil monster.
“I feel guilty, I couldn’t save my Lola. My husband and my son also blame themselves a lot.”
Benkired attacked Lola sexually, slashed her throat with scissors and a box cutter, and then taped her face with duct tape, which led to her death because she was unable to breath
“Who could have imagined what would happen when Lola encountered this thing, this monster?”said Ms Daviet.
“Why us, why Lola? My mother’s heart is forever broken.”
Ms Daviet’s husband, 49-year-old Johan Daviet, died in February last year, due to heavy drinking related to the family tragedy.
The couple had worked as caretakers in the building from which Lola was abducted by the homeless Benkired.
Ms Daviet said: “I tell myself I’m lucky to have my son, Thibault, by my side, otherwise I might not be here anymore.
“I remind you that I lost my Lola, my husband, my job, my home. My whole life has collapsed. I sometimes wonder how I’m still standing.”
Benkired looked on impassively at the testament continued, before Ms Daviet said: “This thing [Benkired] won’t take away the love in our family.
“I ask the courts to do what is necessary to ensure that this person is locked up for life. Do not give anything other than life imprisonment.”
As she spoke, images of Lola were projected on to screens around the court.
When the Judge asked: “What keeps you alive?”, Ms Daviet replied: “My son.”
At the opening of the trial last Friday, Benkired apologised for her “horrible actions”.
She was arrested after Lola’s body was found in a trunk near the Paris apartment building where the young girl lived.
The case has become a political one in France, because Benkired had no right to remain in France and had been issued with an order to leave two months before the killing.
Video surveillance records Benkired, who was homeless and unemployed but staying at her sister’s flat in the same building as Lola, meeting the girl just after 3pm.
Lola’s parents raised the alarm when their daughter did not arrive home.
An hour and a half later, Benkired was filmed in the entrance hallway of the building surrounded by suitcases including a large trunk containing Lola’s corpse.
Benkired was examined by psychiatrists and judged able to stand trial.
