The Portuguese rider Miguel Oliveira (Yamaha) was, this Saturday, October 18, 14th in the sprint race of the German MotoGP Grand Prix, 19th of the 22 races of the season.
Miguel Oliveira, who started from 16th position, crossed the finish line 17.494 seconds behind the winner, the Italian Marco Bezzecchi (Aprilia), who beat the Spaniard Raul Fernandez (Aprilia) by 3.149 seconds, with the also Spanish Pedro Acosta (KTM) in third, at 5.310.
Australian Jack Miller was, this time, the best of the Yamaha riders, finishing in fourth position.
Miguel Oliveira, on the other hand, admitted to having felt “problems with electronics” that affected the qualification, with clear interference in the final result.
“I had some problems in qualifying with the electronics and the management of the rear tire in the last corner”, began by explaining the Portuguese driver from Almada.
In a race in which the 2024 champion was absent, the Spaniard Jorge Martin (Aprilia) and the current virtual champion of 2025, also Spanish Marc Márquez (Ducati)due to injury, Miguel Oliveira regretted the drop in performance of the rear tire.
“In the sprint race, I had a good start and managed to gain two positions, until, with five laps to go, I had a drop in the performance of the rear tire. But, I’m sure we can do something for tomorrow [domingo] let’s improve the pace”concluded the Portuguese pilot.
With these results, Marco Bezzecchi moved closer to third place in the championship, which still belongs to compatriot Francesco Bagnaia (Ducati), who was second to last today.
Marc Márquez, with 545 points, has already mathematically secured the seventh world title of his career in MotoGP, while Miguel Oliveira is 21st, with 32.
The main race takes place on Sunday (19).
