A 72-year-old man died this Saturday during a robbery at the goldsmith shop he owned, in Arraiolos, in the district of Évora, with the two suspects on the run, a GNR source revealed.
The source from the GNR’s Évora Territorial Command told the Lusa agency that the robbery, for which the alert was given at 9:40 am, took place in a goldsmith’s shop located on Rua Mello Mexia, in the center of the Alentejo town.
The two suspected men carried out the robbery using a sharp weapon, said the same source, noting that, during the robbery, they attacked the owner of the goldsmith shop, causing his death.
According to the GNR, after the robbery, the two suspects fled, and it is currently unknown whether the robbers managed to carry out the robbery.
The case was transferred to the Judiciary Police.
In addition to the GNR, the Arraiolos Firefighters and the National Institute of Medical Emergency (INEM) were on site, with a total of nine operators, supported by four vehicles.GNR
